Methods to Clean Your Glass Top on Stove and The Oven
Cleaning Stove Top
One tip I will say before we start, is when you have a glass stove top, it is a huge help if you wipe down your stove after every use. Let your burners get cooled down, and then wipe away any food or stuck on particles. This will help in the buildup, and will make the cleanup easier.
This will take a little elbow grease, as the food that spills over or that is stuck in the pan, really gets cooked on the stove top, and it is a little work. But with this method, you can have your stove top looking like new in no time!
Baking Soda and Vinegar: First off you want to wet a sponge with white vinegar and wipe down the entire stove top. Then sprinkle baking soda over the entire stove top. Take a towel and get it nice and hot, and wring it out, and then place it over the cooktop, so it covers it all. Let it sit for around 25 minutes, and then start scrubbing away any stuck on stains. For the spots that are extremely stuck, grab a razor blade and scrape it away. This will take time but it can remove all the stuck on gunk. Once all is clean, wipe it down again with vinegar to shine it up.
Lemon Juice, Vinegar, and Baking Soda: When your stove is cool, wipe down your stove top with a wet washcloth, and then pour baking soda onto the range and let it sit for 15 minutes and then wipe it away. Then for the stuck on spots, take 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup of lemon juice and pour into a spray bottle. Top the rest with hot water, and shake well and spray onto troubled areas. Let the spray work for 10 minutes and then wipe away. Repeat as necessary to remove any stuck on stains. Just shake well before each use.
Inside Oven Cleaning Options
Baking Soda Paste: A simple paste made from baking soda and water is a simple and easy way to clean! You just add a little water to a cup of baking soda until it forms a thicker paste. Then just coat your oven surface with the paste and let it work overnight. Then in the morning grab a rag and wipe away. All the mess on the inside should wipe away easily.
Borax, Soap, Vinegar And Baking Soda: This is another great option for a homemade oven cleaner! Sprinkle baking soda all over the oven floor. Then in a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons Borax, 1 cup vinegar, and 1/4 cup Dawn blue dish soap with 3 cups of hot water. With a funnel pour the mixture into a spray bottle, shape well, and then spray all over the inside the oven. Let it work for 4 hours, and then you can wipe it up, to remove all the stuck on gunk.
Salt and Vinegar: This is a different one, but worth a try. Heat the oven to 125 degrees, then spray the oven with vinegar, and then add salt to any spills or you see. Turn the oven off, and let the oven cool completely. Once cool wipe up the salt and the vinegar.
